The scientific research activity of CRM implies a continuous interaction between musical culture, language and needs and scientific set of problems and purposes.

The collaboration between musicians and scientists strongly motivated to follow an inter-disciplinary approach allowed obtaining important results in several fields, powerfully integrating in the review of the most recent scientific community acquisitions.
CRM’s researches, which extend from acoustic physics to psychoacoustics, from electronics to informatics, aim to develop new expression tools for musical language.

Sound is the focus of the attention, explored in all its physical and perceptive dimensions. In the last years, most part of CRM work has been oriented to the “space” question in contemporary music. Research, production of new artworks, didactics and concerts have all been centred on architectonical, technological and expressive problems regarding space.
